The second dive for my birthday was at The Steps as Sheree had missed the pygmy pipehorses on the first dive. The tide had changed and was now outgoing so the visibility would not be great but after we jumped in it wasn't too bad, probably at least 5 metres.

We descended to the sand line and made our way towards The Leap. We saw a weedy seadragon and a couple of reaper cuttlefish before we reached the basket star. At the basket star we headed up the reef to the pygmy pipehorses which Sheree got to see this time. We then scoured the whole area for the Miamira magnifica nudibranchs. We checked all the rocks we'd previously seen it as well as the rocks in between and expanded the search area to beyond where we'd seen it. We could not find it anywhere. Sheree did find a very cool rock flathead while we were looking.

We then started on our way back to The Steps but the visibility had decreased somewhat so we kept getting separated. We'd find each other again but it was not long before we were separated again. I looked carefully for anglers and in particular "Big John" but did not find them. We did our safety stop and exited at The Steps.
