Bare Island looked a lot rougher today but it was just a very strong south westerly wind. The swell was no bigger than it was yesterday and we pretty much had the pick of the entry points. I decided we'd do the eastern side of the island as I hoped I could at least find some anglers to show Daniel.

We jumped in just south of the pole and descended to the sand line. Visibility was around 10 metres but it was very cold. We headed north and I carefully checked the low rocks for pygmy pipehorses. Either I have lost my eye for finding them or there weren't any around (or I never had an eye for them and I just got lucky multiple times at The Leap) as I did not find a single pygmy pipehorse.

We followed the wall north through the gap in the rocks and I was looking carefully for anglers. It has been nearly 12 months since I last dived the eastern side and I don't know of the anglers are still around. Nevertheless, I could not find any.

We swam around under the bridge where the water was warmer but visibility was down to around 3 metres. Daniel still had 100 bar so we headed to the north west reef to look for pygmy pipehorses again. The visibility picked up to around 8 metres. On the way we saw a largish crested horn shark. I still didn't find any pygmy pipehorses.

We came back up the slow and along the top of the island exiting just west of the ramp.
