It was calm enough and the tide was low enough for us to jump in from the low platform. We descended and swam at around 30° to the sand line. Visibility was only around 5 metres with a lot of particulate matter in the water. The temperature was around 17°C. We turned left and headed towards The Steps along the sand line.

We saw our first weedy seadragon (PT2016073101), a large juvenile, near Southern Cross Rock. We saw three more weedy seadragons (PT2015051001, PT2016073102, PT2015062401) in Seadragon Alley.

We continued along the sand line past Big Rock. Just after the rock where the basket star used to be I cut up the reef to the basket star that Sheree found which could be the same basket star. We then swam on to Diversity Rock where I found the female pygmy pipehorse (IL2016061401) but I couldn't find the male.

We followed the sand line a bit further and found weedy seadragon (PT2015061401). While Greg was photographing it another smaller one (PT2016061101) swam out from the kelp. We then headed up the reef to the boulders and started our safety stop as we swam to the exit. We exited at The Steps.
