Jumped off the boat and descended to the sand. Followed the reef to the south. There were many boulders covered in the sort of sponges that seahorses seem to prefer. We checked out each boulder carefully looking for seahorses. It was some time into the dive before we found the first seahorse, a black female. A bit further along we found a single boulder with 4 or 5 seahorses. (I'm sure I originally counted 5 (there were two on the one sponge) but when I counted again I could only fined 4.) Not far from that boulder we found two more seahorses. Further along the reef, Sheree found a weedy seadragon and a bubble shell. We turned at around 70 bar and headed back to the boat doing our safety stop among the rocks near the boat. |
