Nick Missenden, from Sydney Dive Academy, joined us for the second dive and promised to show us some anglers and pygmy pipehorses.

We entered the water near the pole on the east of the island (same as the last dive) and swam down to the sand line. We turned north and headed along the low algal reefs looking carefully for pygmy pipehorses. Eventually we came to the wall and the swim through. Nick pointed out a grey angler on the roof of the cave directly above the grey and white angler we'd seen on the first dive which was also still there. I hadn't realised there were two anglers there.

We continued north along the wall and Nick continued to look for anglers. He found an orange form undescribed angler under a ledge but was not able to find a second one he'd seen previously a bit further along. Peter spotted two Jorunna nudibranchs and pointed them out to me.

A bit further along the wall as we reached the boulders, Nick pointed out two pygmy pipehorses on a low rock. One was much larger than the ones Sheree and I had seen on the north-west side of the island and was a bit less cryptic. The other was also larger but just as cryptic.

We continued towards the bridge and Nick pointed out a fourth angler amongst some sponges on the side of a large boulder.

We swam under the bridge and exited at the ramp.
