Conditions today at The Monument were pretty good compared to yesterday although it was overcast which made it quite cold. We waded out in the little bay around the corner from the flagpoles and descended to the sponge garden. The visibility was very good... at least 10 metres. We then headed towards The Steps.

We went to the sand line and followed the wall along. We went to the area where we used to see "Honey" and the other pot-bellied seahorses. On the way Sheree was spotting nudibranchs and cuttlefish. We went a little past the seahorse area and then turned and headed back towards The Monument. On the way back, Sheree pointed out a couple of weedy seadragons.

We came up from the sand line and swam over the reef. At Split Rock Sheree pointed out a reaper cuttlefish and a small giant cuttlefish. We had now seen all three species of cuttlefish on the one dive: reaper, mourning and giant. Sheree tried very hard to find some pygmy pipehorse but we were lucky enough to find "Oliver", the orange form undescribed angler, on the other side of the rock I'd seen him last week.

We were getting cold and so stared heading back to the entry point. On the way we found a crested horn (Port Jackson) shark munching on a regular Port Jackson shark egg. After our safety stop we exited at the entry point.
