It was a grey old day and the bay was rougher than Will Weather suggested it would be. It was not too rough to dive but the conditions under water may not be all that good.

There was too much surge coming over the low platform so I slid down the wall. I descended and swam to the sand line. The surge was quite strong and there was a lot of sand in the water. Despite the surge and sand the visibility was probably 10 metres.

At the sand line I headed north west towards The Steps. I came upon the rock where "Bob" and "Lucy", pot-bellied seahorses, used to be but I could not find them on the rock or on any of the adjacent rocks.

I continued on towards The Steps. I found "Rosie" on her usual rock behind Seahorse Rock but she was difficult to photograph because of the surge. I did a sweep of the area for seahorses and anglers but found none.

Next stop was the rock with "Southern Cross" and I found her immediately and "Pierre" soon after. I again looked closely for "Richie" but I still couldn't find him.

I followed the sand line along and came across three separate weedy seadragons, one a male with eggs, and the stumpy tail one that is usually much closer to The Steps.

I continued along the sand line until the basket star and then cut in a bit looking for "Big John", the orange form undescribed angler. I looked all the way to The Steps but could not find him.

I did my safety stop in front of The Steps and exited there which was a little challenging because of the surge.
