Details

The water was very calm and there was hardly a ripple when we got in at the beach. We descended and I immediately found things to photograph, including cuttlefish, striped pyjama squid and seahorses. I got so caught up in the photography that I got separated from the others and did the whole dive on my own.

I followed the rocks on the eastern side to the north turned and came back over the sand. While swimming around over the sand I found a southern calamari squid that was happy to hang around to be photographed as well as a s southern bottletail squid. I haven't seen many southern bottletail squid before so it was a bit of a thrill. I tried to shoot some video of it but it didn't turn out all that good.

I swam over the sand all the way to the reef in the centre of the bay and then came back along the beach. Close to the beach I found a blue-line octopus and a few pleurobranchs. There was also a few more striped pyjama squid.

After 100 or so minutes I got out expecting to be the last one back on only to find that the others were still in the water. As usual, Camp Cove rocked.
