Details

It was a beautiful day in Nelson Bay and the beach looked inviting. We entered the water at the north eastern end of the beach next to the rocks and descended straight out from the entry point. There was a fairly strong incoming tidal current so we headed parallel to the beach with the current. The visibility was between 3 and 5 metres. There were large sea hares everywhere around motoring over the reef.

After drifting for a while the current eased and we pottered around before heading back along the beach in the shallows. We overshot the exit point and had to swim back around the point.
