Dive with Sydney Tasman Divers on Bent.

Dan and I jumped in and headed down the anchor line. The anchor was hooked into the rocks near a wall. We followed the wall to the west into the current knowing we could come back along the wall to the anchor.

There was an interesting gutter along the wall with lots of sea tulips. We saw a couple of Port Jackson sharks and two giant cuttlefish. There were also lots of sea stars.

We turned and came back along the wall. The anchor was not where I expected it to be. The visibility was not great so finding it would not be easy. We swam around a bit and came back to where I thought the anchor would be but I still couldn't find it.

I decided we'd need to do a mid-water ascent so I sent up my surface marker buoy on my reel while we were still on the bottom. We then ascended slowly. While I could still see the bottom I noticed we were not drifting at all so I felt confident we wouldn't be far from the boat. I half expected to hear the motor start and as it didn't I figured the SMB was near the boat. We did a 5 minute safety stop and ascended. We surfaced less than 2 metres from the boat.
