Simon joined me for the second dive. He was checking out his gear and I wanted to show him some of the sights. We jumped in at The Steps and descended to the sand line. We turned right and headed towards The Leap.

We followed the sand line along and saw a number of mourning cuttlefish along the way. We got all the way to Hand Rock where I found the male pygmy pipehorse and then eventually found the female. I pointed them out to Simon.

Fresh with new directions from John and Mandy I was determined to find the Miamara magnifica nudibranchs. I now new they were on the eastern side of a rock which was somewhat isolated and perhaps pyramid shaped. I must have check 10 or 15 rocks which vaguely fitted the description before finding the nudibranchs. It turns out the rock was in a direct line between where the basket star used to be and where it was now. I'd be able to find this rock again. While I was trying to get photos of the nudibranchs a large lions mane jelly kept swimming into the rock just below the nudibranchs. I have to wait for it to move off before I could gently move it on with my fin. I pointed out the basket star before we move on to Diversity Rock.

I found nothing of note at Diversity Rock and we continued along the sand line before turning up to the boulders. We swam over the Pleisiatrea colonies and on to Split Rock where we did our safety stop before exiting at The Steps.
