Cut a piece of 15mm (5/8") electrical conduit to a length that allows you to reach the bottom of your deepest tank without getting your hand wet. Make a 45° saw cut about 10mm (1/2") from one end to a depth of about 8mm (1/3").  Insert single edged razor blade.

Make sure you wash the razor blade in freshwater and allow to dry after each use.
